2025 Updates
Hi again,
I blinked and half the year has disappeared! Here’s a little recap…
EXHIBITIONS & PROJECTS
Digital Rhythm (Jan 2025)
Ora-Ora Galerie, Hong Kong
Presented work as part of Digital Rhythm, a group show exploring the human edge of digital art. The exhibition brought together artists working with AI, virtual identities, and storytelling to dig into memory, vulnerability, and how tech reflects culture back at us. My piece sat alongside work by Henry Chu, Sasha Stiles, Genesis Kai, and Nick Teeple.
Meet Eva Here (Jan 2025)
Platform Project, ART SG 2025, Singapore – Solo Presentation
This was the first time showing Eva’s interactive real-time video avatar, where visitors could speak directly to her as she responded live on screen. The installation also included her eye-tracking portrait and evolving Instagram diary. Presented with Platform as part of ART SG’s special projects, it was a chance to see how people would respond to a digital presence that looks and sounds uncannily human.
Panel: Bodies on Screens – Reimagining Connection in the Age of Artificial Forms
As part of ART SG’s talks program, I joined other artists and curators to talk about how we connect with digital bodies and characters. We discussed things like presence, identity, and what it means when technology talks back.
Consensus Hong Kong 2025 – Arts, AI & the Future of Creativity (Feb 2025)
Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre – Emerging Tech Stage/ Live Broadcast
I was invited to join the Art, AI & the Future of Creativity panel at Consensus Hong Kong 2025, hosted by CoinDesk at the Emerging Tech Stage. The discussion centered on how artists are using AI tools to elevate their practice today. Later, I hopped onto a live broadcast with CoinDesk, sharing how Meet Eva Here explores human-machine dialogue and emotional projection online.
Talking to Machines: When AI Becomes More Than a Tool (Mar 2025)
Performance Lecture, Art Central, Hong Kong
Invited by Art Central to present as part of the public programme, this performance lecture explored the emotional and cultural dimensions of AI companions. Blending personal stories, live interaction, and uncomfortable questions, it looked at what it means to confide in a machine and why so many of us already do.
EVA (Mar 2025)
The Columns Gallery, Singapore – Solo Exhibition
This solo exhibition brought together two threads of my practice: earlier digital portraiture and newer works from Meet Eva Here. Shown together, they explored themes of identity, intimacy, and constructed presence in the digital age. From lenticular prints to stills and interactive elements, EVA was a reflection on how digital figures can both reveal and distort the way we look at each other.
SHU UEMURA x SHAVONNE WONG (Apr 2025)
Campaign Collaboration
Collaborated with Shu Uemura on a beauty campaign that mixed digital art with a bold, futuristic look. The project used virtual models and vibrant textures to imagine what beauty could feel like in the future… playful, experimental, and full of optimism.
Meet Eva Here (May 2025)
Platform Project, Taipei Dangdai, Taiwan – Solo Presentation
Presented the same core installation from ART SG where the audience gets to speak to the AI companion Eva, but reimagined the setup into an even cozier, more artificial space. We staged living room with fake plants, a fake dog, and a digital companion inviting you in for a chat. The response was overwhelming with waves of visitors stepping into a pretend room to speak to a pretend person.
EVA at Silk Art House: Chapter 2 (May 2025)
Bali, Indonesia – Presentation + Panels
Invited to speak at Chapter 2: Reworlding Intimacies by Silk Art House, a gathering of artists, collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts exploring new ways of connecting through art and technology. I introduced Meet Eva Here through a talk, followed by an interactive session where the audience could speak directly with Eva. I also joined two panel discussions with a thoughtful and engaged crowd. One of the most memorable settings I’ve ever worked in.

Eva’s Final Chapter (Soon-ish)
Currently sitting at almost 70 posts, Meet Eva Here is soon reaching its planned ending at 100 posts, where the project will be closed and preserved as a sealed time capsule, capturing this very specific moment in late-stage internet culture where humans and AI not only interact but begin to normalize the idea that machines can kind of now speak like us.
Looking Ahead
I’m honestly so proud of how far Meet Eva Here has come. What started as a vague idea turned into something intense and ever-evolving that’s pushed me in ways I didn’t see coming. Creatively, emotionally, intellectually… it’s been a lot! It’s made me read more, ask better questions, break things, rebuild them, and keep going even when I wasn’t sure what I was doing.
This project isn’t just about how people interact with AI. It’s also shown me how I interact with technology, what I project onto it, and how easy it is to blur the lines. It’s become more personal than I expected. I still don’t know exactly how to end it, but I do know I want the Instagram diary to stand as a time capsule… a snapshot of where we were, what we wondered, and the moment we started talking to machines like they were one of us.
Thanks for being part of this. For the messages, the hugs at shows, and all the strange, thoughtful things you’ve said to Eva. It means more than you know. This remains the most personal, risky, and rewarding thing I’ve ever done.
Talk again in December.
Love,
Shavonne ❤️
